I bought this bus about a two and half years ago in Memphis, and towed it home. I was planning to do a complete restoration on it, but have run out of time/money to even think about. I would like for someone who has the time and money to get this great deal and have fun with it. I'm going to use the money for a down payment on a second vehicle I need a truck. 1979 VW Bus. Factory a/c (not sure of condition of it since I haven't messed with it yet). Started the rust remediation, but that's all I got to, and I mean just started. The interior was gutted before I got it, but has 4 bucket seats including the 2 front seats. It runs, but the engine needs some gaskets as it leaks oil pretty good. I have the kit, just haven't got to it. The gas pedal needs to be rebuilt as it stays on the floor when started. This can be repaired for as little as $10 at busdepot.com if its just the pedal kit needed, but even the cable itself isn't too much. Has some rust, but not too bad. There are some holes from rust again easily fixed. The inside floor is in pretty solid condition with only a few rust holes. Since it is not really in driving condition I have a tow bar that attaches to the front bumper that is included to get it to its new home. Tires will need to be replaced before it drives since there is some surface rot from sitting longer than I had it. One tire has split, so I will need to get one before you take it home, if I haven't replaced it since. Transmission seems fine, but haven't gotten it up to high speed enough to test all gears with the oil leak and gas pedal issue. It does have TN title, so you can get it on the road in no time. I hate to see her go, but I hate to see it sitting there everyday without being able to touch it to restore it. As long as it goes to someone who will enjoy it then I'll be happy. First one to bring the cash gets it, I'm just trying to recoop my investment, otherwise I'll hold onto her, and fix it when I have time. Call 865 - 679 - 6512 or email me from link above. Just found out one of the fuel lines is shot, so it spews gas now at the engine, when trying to run over. Years of sitting dry rotted the line, but still should be an easy fix. Even with the issues you won't find another one for the price in this condition with an engine and title.
